We study type 1 diabetes and cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) through the use of patient samples and datasets to develop biomarkers that will predict the natural history of diabetes and response to therapy. 

Alvin Ho, Specialist

Alvin grew up in San Francisco before crossing the bay to UC Berkeley, where he majored in Molecular and Cell Biology and studied mechanisms of innate immunity as an undergraduate researcher in Russell Vance’s lab. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Alvin moved back to San Francisco and joined the Sanda Lab in 2014. During his free time, Alvin enjoys playing sports (especially volleyball), board games, musical theater, and cheering on the Golden State Warriors.
